Clinic Leaders
Amber Hutchinson MSc CSCS
o Swimming Biomechanist, Let’s Look Underwater
o Founder & President, Toronto Purple Fins gender free swim club
Amber (she, her) is a passionate swimmer, coach, and advocate of swimming as a lifelong activity. She’s worked as a Biomechanist for over a decade and has gained a wealth of experience working with athletes and coaches across the pathway toward high performance and international success in both Olympic and Paralympic streams.
Through her understanding of the sport system, she recognized that swimming is rooted in the gender binary and that many sport spaces can be nerve wracking for queer and trans swimmers. In 2021, Amber founded and coached the first practice of Toronto Purple Fins – a gender free swim club. She’s gained valuable experience delivering trusted and inclusive spaces for 2SLGBTQ+ swimmers for the past 4 years and she is excited to offer an inclusive, welcoming and high-quality performance clinic.
